We have our fall garden in place, the crepe myrtle flowers are indeed fading, and the leaves on the trees are turning colors as well as falling. We also have harvested the pears, the Spider Lily has sent out its harbinger message, and I have spotted the fall flowers like the Panicle Aster blooming about the yard. Some of the days are still warm but for the most part it is cooling down. I am very grateful for that since this Summer’s heat was oppressive with it’s heat dome hovering over us!
Speaking of Gardens…
If you enjoy reading I found Tasha Tudor’s Garden by Tovah Martin to be an excellent read! I loved how it went through her garden throughout the seasons. The changes are embraced for each. The book also fosters ideas on how to further develop our own plots and acres. I found it very inspiring.
Officially, Autumn begins next Monday – September 22nd. You may find yourself trying to squeeze all that Summer has to offer before really gearing down to the slower pace of Autumn.
