Welcome to July! We are in the heart of Summer right now, well really a heat wave. We are looking at temps hovering around 100 for a few days! We have been preparing and taking extra steps to keep our cow cool outside. Thankfully, most of our land is forested so it does stay generally cooler. We also have to check periodically throughout the day to make sure all the animals still have plenty of water, so as you can imagine we will be staying a little extra busy and then cooling off inside.
Today, the Digital Scrapbook July 2026 Blog Train is live and I have a larger than my usual mini kit. I ended up going with the Campfire theme, which I always love! So if you have done any Summer camping this will be a great kit to record all those memories!
Hopefully, you all are staying cool, or if you are in the opposite hemisphere, warm! (P.S. Send some snowflakes my direction!)

That’s so good to hear that your animals will also be as comfortable as possible during the heat wave. We have a bit of one as well – not as hot, but kind of muggy, so it feels oppressive. Very thankful for A/C!
Thank you Tricia – I thought it was a fitting palette for the camping theme. We went and bought a huge fan and set it up right outside our pregnant cow’s paddock so she can keep cool. She knows exactly what to do with it too. Hope you get thru the heat wave too, we deal with all the mugginess as well here in Southern VA. I guess at least being born & raised in the deep South I am pretty accustomed to it lol! We do not normally use AC and most of the time it is quite pleasant. But we sure have our AC running full speed with this heat wave! ♥
