This weekend we finally were able to install the chimney liner, and our wood stove! It heats beautifully! When we made our first fire in it Buttermilk, our cow, became quite concerned to see smoke coming out of the chimney. She began mooing and wouldn’t stop till we went outside to reassure her all was ok. She is always amazing us in some new way!

  3. Lovely mini! Thank you, Jessica. I enjoyed your story about Buttermilk. Brought memories back from my youth many, many years ago. We had relatives who had a dairy farm and we visited fairly regularly to buy our milk and eggs. They had a herd, somewhere around 10 or 20, and we were sometimes there when it was time to bring them in from the pasture for milking. (I learned how to avoid “cow pies” quite quickly.)

And we sure know all about what those cow pies, my husband scoops them up and spread them in places he wants to fertilize the ground – like the garden plot. Thanks so much Phyllis for stopping by! ♥
